BSNL has decided to collect some initial payments to be collected in three monthly installments.
BSNL has understood that the initial security deposit for modem and plans are calculated as entry cost by customers even though modem deposit is refundable. This entry cost puts off many prospective broadband customers. Thus in order to break this mental block of customers, BSNL has decided to convert some initial payments to be payable in 3 EMIs. This will reduce initial burden and thus customers’ mental calculation about high entry cost can be tackled.
The detail is as under:
There are two kinds of security deposits payable by broadband customers [not in all plans], one is deposit for broadband and another for Modem [if not owned by customer]. Modem deposit is Rs. 500 [refundable] while the security deposit for broadband [wherever applicable] is equivalent to one month fixed charges [depends on the plan opted].
So what has changed:
Prospective broadband customers will pay Rs.500 [deposit for modem] & deposit for BB [ one month fixed charge for plan opted] in 3 EMIs. The charges will be added in the monthly bills.
This is a promotional offer valid for 60 days and gets implemented from today i.e. 05/07/2011
