Netflix is now offering a bare-bones DVD plan amid rumors of price increases for its DVD-and-streaming plans.
The $7.99 plan, offered at a new page on the Netflix site, allows users to have one DVD out a time on an unlimited basis. According to a Netflix salesperson who spoke to CNET today, those who want to include Blu-ray discs in the new plan will need to pay $9.99 per month. Internet streaming of video content is not included.
NewTeeVee was the first to report Netflix's new plan, which will help round out the company's current slate of plans. In addition to its streaming-only $8-per-month option, Netflix offers customers DVD-and-streaming plans that range from $9.99 to $55.99, for between one DVD and eight DVDs out a time.
However, there might be more changes afoot. Engadget is reporting that a "tipster" claims that Netflix is nearing a dramatic shakeup in plan structure. According to its tip, the company plans to charge customers $15.98 per month for its single-DVD-and-streaming plan, rather than the $9.99 per month it currently charges. The changeover, Engadget says, could come as early as tomorrow night.
For its part, Netflix confirmed to CNET that it's offering the new $7.99 plan, but it declined to comment on any other changes that might be coming to its plan structure. Even so, reports have continued to pop up from time to time claiming that Netflix is thinking seriously about changing its current plans.
In April, for instance, Netflix used its investor site to answer questions related to its current plans, acknowledging that it was thinking of ways to encourage multiple people in a home to have their own accounts, rather than a single household sharing an account that everyone uses.

Nimbuzz Ping was working with all Java and Symbian mobile phones in our test lab Nimbuzz Ping lets you receive free SMS notifications when Nimbuzz friends are trying to connect with you when you are offline. You will appear online to your friends even if you have Nimbuzz turned off on your mobile phone.

To make the push notification work you need to first make sure you have your phone number registered on Nimbuzz.

BSNL launches pan India Game download contest

BSNL has planned  Games download contest. This contest starting from July 07 will continue upto August 6. The top three games downloaders will be selected and rewarded. All the game downloads from BSNL Live, Games club etc will be counted.
Customers can participate by downloading any game from any category Rs.50.  Fisrt three maximum downloaders will be selected as winners for prize and in case of tie winners will be selected through random selection. The names of winners will be announced on August 16,2011.
All the three winners will get Game Play Station 2 (worth Rs.3000) as the contest prize.
BSNL management has been asked to mop up 25% revenue growth in this financial year by telecom minister and for that to happen VAS revenue contribution have to go up. This contest may have been planned to scale up the revenue contribution from VAS.

BSNL To Launch Mobile Connectivity

BSNL geared up to launch Mobile services through satellite connectivity at different spots on these stretches to facilitate the communication needs in the snowbound region “No-Man’s Land” in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
According to the BSNL’s statement, the satellite phone connectivity will also come to aid of tourists, locals, including migratory shepherds who get stranded in the snowbound area during freak snowfall from time to time, but without any connection with the outside world.
BSNL will be the first telecom operators to offer the communication services in this snowbound region. Earlier BSNL also launched GSM Mobile Services in SIACHEN, AMARNATH and Himachal Pradesh’s remote Miyar Valley as we shared on TelecomTalk.
BSNL also start similar service to residents at Losar, a remotest village in Spiti on the Keylong Kaza road located at the base of the 15,000-ft-high Kunjam Pass and Batal located other side of Pass in the Lahaul valley in the Himalayan region.
Mr. Rakesh Kapur, CGMT, BSNL Himachal Pradesh circle said, “BSNL will start satellite phone connectivity to people living in the remote Himalayan region. We have set up PCO at Batal and are launching the service in July at Losar and Nithar in Lahaul-Spiti district”.
It is significant to share that In 2009, over 1000 tourists, locals and laborers traveling between Keylong and Spiti and between Keylong and Leh remained stranded for days in snowfall as the rescue teams could not establish any link with them.
